UCM Legacy Program
The University of Central Missouri Legacy program is for current students and alumni whose family members — including children, parents, stepparents or grandparents — also attended UCM. Legacy Families have some of the strongest ties to the university, and we love hearing their stories and seeing their UCM spirit!
We want to hear from you! Tell us about your family's memories and the traditions that tie each generation of students together. When you share your story and submit a family photo using our Google form, you help inform our UCM Legacy program and inspire other families!
As part of the UCM Legacy community, we invite you to stay connected and celebrate your family’s MuleNation traditions through special opportunities and recognition. Here are some ways to get involved:
Come back for Family Weekend
Every September the university celebrates students and the people who love and support them during Family Weekend. Join us for a complimentary pancake breakfast catered by famous flippers Chris Cakes, participate in the ever-popular Color Run and watch the Mules Football Game! Family Weekend 2026 is scheduled for Sept. 12. Keep an eye on the UCM Alumni Foundation social media accounts for info on this and other family events, such as Grandparents University.
Welcome Incoming Students
Help us extend a warm welcome to incoming UCM Legacy students at the start of the fall semester. If you know a student from a UCM Legacy Family who is joining us on Move-In Day, reach out so we can deliver a special gift box to their residence hall! Call us at 660-543-8000 or email alumni@ucmo.edu.
Share Your Baby News
Do you have a new member of your UCM Legacy Family? It will be awhile until they are ready to become Mules and Jennies, but you can share your big news now with our alumni community in UCM Magazine! Get a FREE UCM-branded bib for your new arrival by filling out our Google form and sharing a baby photo. Visit ucmfoundation.org/baby-news.

Get UCM Legacy gear for your whole family! Students in the university's Fashion and Apparel Merchandising program have designed an entire line of UCM Legacy-branded clothing — from onesies to hats to T-shirts and polo shirts, there's something for every generation. UCM Legacy Gifts
The UCM Legacy program is designed to educate future Mules and Jennies about the university by providing age-specific gifts throughout their childhood. As a UCM Legacy, your child or grandchild is eligible for one of the FREE gifts pictured below! Gifts can be mailed or picked up at the Smiser Alumni Center or the annual Family Weekend Pancake Breakfast. One gift per submission and age group; submissions and gifts will be marked on alumni records. Claim a complimentary gift for the Legacy youth in your family using our Google form.

UCM Legacy Graduates
Graduates who are members of a UCM Legacy Family are invited to wear a special cord at their commencement ceremony. Students may pick up their UCM Legacy cord in the Smiser Alumni Center a few weeks before commencement.

Alumni Legacy Scholarship
Do you want to help other UCM Legacy Families? The Alumni Legacy Scholarship was created to help families continue their tradition of seeing multiple generations become proud graduates of UCM. Please encourage any Legacy Family members you know to apply for the scholarship. You can also make a gift to enable more families to uphold their legacy!
